Tres Belle Spa: Colorblind Campaign April 14 2014

Dyke. Shorty. Jew. We are more than our labels, the ones that society puts on us and the ones that we put on ourselves. Labeled “radicals,” I grew up in a family that used their voices to fight against labels and fight for justice. My family has marched with MLK, slept at the house of the first black family to move into their Levitt neighborhood, marched the NYC gay pride parade, marched on DC for women’s rights, and created movements to improve our nation’s education system. I grew up with an innate sense to speak up for those unjustly labeled. I continue to follow my family’s example on issues that matter to me like animal welfare, transgender teens, black teenage girls, and women. We can’t all do everything but we can all do SOMETHING. -Allison Tray (owner of Tres Belle Spa)
