Winter Skin Tips
Winter Warriors! To comfort your skin during change of season, try these tips to keep your hydration levels up and your glow going.
• avoid hot water- hot water zaps the skins natural hydration process. It can cause inflammation. Cold water respects the skins protective layer.
• swap lotions for creams- creams will help seal the moisture in the skin due to their heavier consistency. This is especially essential during the day when your skin is exposed to cold air.
• use a humidifier- humidifiers will add moisture back into the air during home heating season. It might also help you stave off that winter cold by keep your mucus membranes hydrated.
• use a hydrating mask 3x a wk- by adding a hydrating mask 3x a week, you’ll be consistently driving active ingredients into the skin. If you practice this skincare ritual, you can expect to avoid skin tightness.
It might take some time to get used to cold water in the face but we hear from clients all the time that it has made a huge difference in the comfort of their skin.
