IsolaSKIN: 6 Ways to Gleam your Quarantine

Hello Lovelies,

It’s been a few days since our doors have been closed, but we miss you so much that we’ve decided to write weekly blog posts. It’s important to me that we stay connected during these crazy banana times. I have been receiving such incredible emails asking how I’m doing and how much people love Tres Belle in their lives. The beauty of our connection shines bright through these expressions. We are a part of each other’s lives.

Thank you for reaffirming that the success of a small business is built through community.

Here’s a message I got just 10 minutes ago from Jaime “Truly thinking of you, and not wanting to see your doors close.  Hoping you stay well and healthy, and hope we got to hear more of your voice through your newsletters or insta even if your physical location is shut temporarily! Sending xoxo.”

As I sit here, in my apartment and think about what I can do to feel a little bit of the normalcy we once took for granted, I think about my skincare routine. It has been an unwavering constant in my life. On overwhelming or stressful days, ending my night with a curated skincare routine is how I reconnected with myself.

And that has not changed.

But what has changed is my lifestyle – all of our lifestyles. Like many of you, I’m experimenting with home workouts, new ways to stay connected and pasta 10 ways.

I already miss my city but, it’s not going anywhere. If you need me, I am right here. We can talk, text, facetime…keep caring for yourself and your skin. You’ve been so dedicated, don’t stop now.

I have created a lifestyle at home that encompasses some best skin and sanity practices. Here is my list, and I hope you will add to it too.

1. Take your vitamins, eat your greens

Our diets have most likely changed, because how we shop for groceries has changed.

This is a good time to start taking vitamins to give your body, and your skin an extra boost. I recommend an Omega 3-6-9 pill to hydrate your skin, and Vitamin D.

Don’t overlook the frozen vegetable section. I have seen a near abundance at the market. To make sure you’re getting a decent green intake, try a smoothie.

Here’s my daily:

  • 2 cups spinach

  • ½ banana

  • ½ avocado

  • handful parsley

  • handful raw cashews

  • ½ cup water

2. Wash your face

This hasn’t changed! Wash your face with cold water, morning and night. You’ll feel more put together, and your skin will thank you. Staying indoors does not mean your skin is not exposed to bacteria and dust. In fact, what often leads to breakouts is an accumulation of sweat and dead skin cells being trapped in your pores. That cold water morning wash feels so good.

3. Do masks

Those masks you’ve been saving for a special occasion? Now is the time. Masks deliver a concentrated boost of active ingredients to your skin. Think of your daily routine as your workout, and your mask as an amped up personal training session. Depending on your skin condition, you can and should mask several times a week. For those lucky enough to have Masque Vivant at home, add a little baking soda to activate the yeast and get an extra boost of glow.

4. Humidifier

If you struggle with a dry, or dull complexion, a cool air humidifier is a great way to add hydration to your skin will you sleep. Add in a few drops of an essential oil for a boost of Zen, and more radiant skin. Humidifiers can also help stave off colds.

5. Move your body

Those home workout videos you’ve been seeing? Find one that you love, facetime your best friend, and workout together. Joy, movement and friendship do wonders for your spirit. Check out Instagram for workouts from our former massage therapist Jo Martinez and our BFF Lawson Harris.

6. Do your hair

Sometimes, a person just needs a decent hair day to pull themselves through. Read a book and try a new hairstyle but whatever you do…do not cut your own bangs.

Do what brings you joy. And then spread joy with those you love. Keep connecting. Ps, use “promiseofspring” for 15% off all services at the spa, including gift cards. Your purchases will help us keep all of our staff employed during this confusing time.

Love,

Allison and the Tres Belle Staff
